The Greenmarket multistorey car park is probably the nearest reliable parking place for the festival, and is free after 6pm - but free after 3pm on Friday 24th November only as this one of the "Christmas Light Nights" evenings. The city centre will be very busy all weekend with other "Light Nights" related events and there are some road closures. The other council parking areas (the Olympia Multi Storey Car Park and the Gellatly Street Multi Storey Car Park) are also free after 3pm on 24th November, and are free after 6pm on other evenings.
The main sessions of the Dundee Mountain Film Festival programme are held at the Bonar Hall, Park Place which is on the University of Dundee Campus (Postcode DD1 4HN). Details of parking here. The Thursday Evening lecture by Richard Else (Wainwright Revealed - and his 40 year love affair with Scotland), will be held at the Dalhousie Building, 75 Old Hawkhill, Dundee, DD1 5EN. Shelter Stone- The Artist and The Mountain - was launched at the Shelter Stone Howff in the heart of the Cairngorms on 18th June 2017. Eddie Summerton, who curated this project, invited 70 artists and writers to contribute visual artworks and poems, inspired by their connections to mountains, to be included in Shelter Stone- The Artist and The Mountain publication.
The publication will be exhibited in The Visual Research Centre of The DCA in November 2017 to coincide with the Dundee Mountain Film Festival. Dundee Contemporary Arts (DD1 4DY) is on the Perth Road, just a few yards East of the other venues, on the opposite side of the road, just past the Queens Hotel. The Exhibition opening times are – Friday 24th noon – 5.00pm / Saturday 25th noon – 5.00pm
